VfB STUTTGART GOES ASIA

Schächter Sports supports VfB Stuttgart with its international strategy for Asia

We had the pleasure to support VfB Stuttgart when entering additional Asian markets.

During a 14-day trip the club traveled to Ho Chi Minh City and Singapore to establish the VFB Stuttgart brand with a grassroots-focussed approach.

The former VfB Stuttgart player and part of the German Champion team in 2007, Silvio Meißner, ran football camps in both cities and gave kids the chance to train with a German Champion in the VfB Stuttgart way. After coaching 225 kids in Ho Chi Minh organized by Schächter Sports, the club headed to Singapore to train with our local partner in the city and to speak about the clubs work in both territories.

Invited by Bundesliga partner and official broadcaster in the region, Fox Asia, Silvio Meißner was interviewed as part of a TV show and introduced the club, its history and values as well as its international and grassroots approach to a wide audience throughout South East Asia.

As a first follow-up a delegation led by Heiko Stroh, Director Internationalization, headed to Japan, visited our network partner in Tokio for a football camp and met local representatives from clubs, media and politics. Besides a successful grassroots activation and many good starting points for long-term partnerships into Japan, VfB Stuttgart also took care of the disadvantaged by visiting a Japanese orphanage to spend some time and play football with the children.

"2018/19 season has been a breakout year for the club in Asia, starting to intensify our connections to Japan, Singapore and Vietnam was our starting point of a long-term strategy to be present in the market through media but also for the youngest in the streets and their football clubs. With Schächter Sports as our partner, we will follow this strategy to connect our brand to the youngest through football activations and partnerships.", said Heiko Stroh.
